| Increasing the state share of funding the total cost of K-12 public education from 55% to 60% beginning in fiscal year 2009-10 will increase funding for General Purpose Aid for Local Schools by $94,585,900 in fiscal year 2009-10 and $96,827,586 in fiscal year 2010-11. This fiscal note is based on the assumption that the growth in the total state and local cost of K-12 public education can not exceed 2.37% during the 2010-2011 biennium pursuant to Title 20-A, §15671, sub-§1. This estimate also assumes that the Governor's proposed budget recommendations for the General Purpose Aid for Local School program included in the 2008-2009 biennial budget is approved. | ||||||
