| This legislation will require a General Fund appropriation to the Department of Environmental Protection in the amount of $154,652 in fiscal year 2007-08, $152,538 in fiscal year 2008-09, $157,424 in fiscal year 2009-10 and $162,935 in fiscal year 2010-11 to fund two Environmental Specialist III positions and general operating expenses required to develop education, outreach and assistance programs for dentists and conduct a study. | ||||||
| Preliminary estimates from the Department of Health and Human Services indicate this bill may eventually cost the MaineCare program as much as $300,000 per year ($112,000 general fund) for the additional costs of resin-based vs. amalgam fillings. | ||||||
