| The Bureau of Insurance in the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation will require an Other Special Revenue Funds allocation of $198,686 in 2007-08 and $362,706 in 2008-09 to establish and administer the new Insurance Fraud Division. This allocation assumes the creation of 4 new positions and related operating costs in the Bureau. This fiscal note also assumes the Department of the Attorney General will require an Other Special Revenue Funds allocation of $58,000 in 2007-08 and $122,380 in 2008-09 for an Assistant Attorney General position to be funded by the Bureau of Insurance. The Bureau of Insurance believes it can fund the additional costs of establishing and operating the Fraud Division within existing budgetary resources, but should this not be the case, the Bureau has assessment authority under existing law to support the costs of the Bureau. | ||||||
