Fiscal Detail and Notes
Provides a General Fund appropriation of $152,367 in 2007-08 and $203,101 in 2008-09 for the State's share of the cost of increasing the minimum personal needs allowance for MaineCare nursing home residents to $50 per month.  The current nursing home personal needs allowance is $40 per month.  It is assumed that 4,613 nursing home residents would retain an additional $10 per month, resulting in the MaineCare program picking up a total cost of $553,560 per year that is split between the state and federal governments based on the federal medical assistance percentage (FMAP).  The first year effective date is assumed to be October 1, 2007.
