Fiscal Note
Potential current biennium cost increase - General Fund
Fiscal Detail and Notes
The municipalities administer the General Assistance program and the Department of Health and Human Services reimburses 50% of the direct cost.  If a municipality reaches it's threshold, which is .0003% of it's tax value, the reimbursement is 90%.  If siblings are removed from the list of relatives who are responsible for burial or cremation costs and the municipal cost goes up for these activities state reimbursement costs will go up as well.  The amount of increased reimbursement by the state can not be predicted.
