Fiscal Detail and Notes
	Appropriates $400,000 in 2007-08 and $416,160 in 2008-09 to provide financial resources to the Portland Identification and Early Referral (PIER) program to continue to prevent new cases of psychosis and psychotic disorders in young people from 12 years of age to 25 years of age in the greater Portland area.  While federal matching funds may be available for the costs of participants in this program, the number eligible and the amount of matching funds available cannot be determined at this time.
	Also provides a one-time $50,000 appropriation in 2007-08 to develop a demonstration program to determine the effectiveness of the methods used by the Portland Identification and Early Referral (PIER) program and to evaluate the feasibility and expected effectiveness of expanding psychosis prevention programs similar to PIER to other areas of the State.  It is assumed these funds would be used to develop the demonstration program and that the department would need to secure additional state, federal or other funds to implement the demonstration program.
