jurisdiction with an automated external defibrillator and to appoint a
committee of unit employees to develop and implement procedures for the
storage and use of an automated external defibrillator is a state mandate
pursuant to the Constitution of Maine.
The total cost to school administrative units is estimated to be
$2,579,220. |

total cost of $2,579,220 is determined based on the following
assumptions: 1) at $1,950 each times
805 schools in Maine the cost of defibrillators is $1,569,750, and 2) other
related costs for carrying cases, wall-mounted cabinets, replacement
batteries, pediatric pads and training are estimated to be $1,254 per school
times 805 schools for an additional $1,009,470. |
