	The general operating expenses to establish the Commission to Study Alternative Education Programs are projected to be $4,490 in fiscal year 2008-09.  The Legislature's proposed budget includes $20,000 in fiscal year 2008-09 for legislative studies.  Whether the amount is sufficient to fund all studies will depend on the number of studies authorized by the Legislative Council and the Legislature.

	Additional costs to the Department of Education and the University of Maine System to serve on the Commission can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources.
