Resolve, To Promote the Use of Alternative Fiber
Sec. 1. Pilot program. Resolved: That the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources, through the University of Maine, shall create a pilot program to determine the economic feasibility of growing hemp for industrial purposes in the State if permitted under federal law; and be it further
Sec. 2. Report. Resolved: That the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources shall submit a report on the pilot program under section 1 to the Joint Standing Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry by February 1, 2010.
SUMMARY
This resolve directs the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources, through the University of Maine, to create a pilot program to determine the economic feasibility of growing hemp for industrial purposes in the State.
