Fiscal Detail and Notes
This floor amendment removes the provisions of the committee amendment which required an Other Special Revenue Funds allocation to the Department of Public Safety of $150,000 in fiscal year 2010-11. It also removes the provisions of the committee amendment which increased Other Special Revenue Funds revenue to the Department of Public Safety by $150,000 in fiscal year 2010-11. This amendment creates the Safe Drug Depository Fund within the Department of Public Safety and includes a base allocation of $500 in fiscal year 2010-11.
Additional costs to the Department of Public Safety associated with establishing secure pharmaceutical drug depositories can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources.
Removing the requirement that the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) adopt technical rules and convene a stakeholder group for the unwanted covered drug program will result in minor savings to DEP compared to the prior Committee Amendment which contained that requirement. |
