| Increasing the number of days that a retiree may return to service with the same employer after retirement from 60 days to 180 days will not have a direct impact on the liabilities of the Maine Public Employees Retirement System. However, to the extent that these retirees are used to fill vacant positions in lieu of new hires, there may be an impact to employer contributions in the future. Current actuarial assumptions anticipate new entrants into the retirement program for whom employee and employer contributions are made. The impact can not be determined at this time and will depend on actual experience. | ||||||
