	Requires school administrative units to implement dating violence policies, publish the dating violence policy, provide dating violence training and a copy of the policy to school personnel, provide dating violence education and a copy of the policy to students in grades 7 through 12, inform each parent and legal guardian of a 7th to 12th grade student of the school's dating violence policy and provide a copy of the policy to parents and legal guardians upon request. 	The required local activities in this bill may represent a State mandate pursuant to the Constitution of Maine.  Unless General Fund appropriations are provided to fund at least 90% of the additional costs or a Mandate Preamble is amended to the bill and two-thirds of the members of each House vote to exempt this mandate from the funding requirement, municipalities may not be required to implement these changes.
Fiscal Detail and Notes
	The Department of Education has indicated that it will require ongoing General Fund appropriations of $30,000 in fiscal year 2009-10 and $50,000 per year beginning in fiscal year 2010-11 for the costs associated with including dating violence education in the Maine Learning Results.  The fiscal year 2009-10 cost includes curriculum alignment and development of model dating violence policy standards.  The ongoing costs beginning in fiscal year 2010-11 include curriculum development, professional development and distribution of curriculum materials
