Resolve, To Align Child-to-staff Ratios in Child Care Facilities

Sec. 1. Rulemaking. Resolved: That the Department of Health and Human Services shall amend the rules for licensing child care facilities in order to increase the child-to-staff ratios of child care centers as defined in the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 22, section 8301-A, subsection 1-A, paragraph A to the child-to-staff ratios of small child care facilities as defined in Title 22, section 8301-A, subsection 1-A, paragraph E. Rules adopted pursuant to this section are routine technical rules as defined in Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A.

SUMMARY

This resolve directs the Department of Health and Human Services to amend the rules for licensing child care facilities in order to increase the child-to-staff ratios of child care centers to the child-to-staff ratios of small child care facilities. The resolve designates the rules as routine technical rules.
