An Act Relating to Distribution of Revenues from Future Casinos
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 8 MRSA §1003, sub-§2, ¶S, as enacted by PL 2003, c. 687, Pt. A, §5 and affected by Pt. B, §11, is amended to read:
S. Prepare and submit to the department a budget for the administration of this chapter; and
Sec. 2. 8 MRSA §1003, sub-§2, ¶T, as enacted by PL 2003, c. 687, Pt. A, §5 and affected by Pt. B, §11, is amended to read:
T. Keep accurate and complete records of its proceedings and certify the records as may be appropriate . ; and
Sec. 3. 8 MRSA §1003, sub-§2, ¶U is enacted to read:
U. In any year in which a law authorizing a new gambling facility that operates slot machines or table games takes effect, submit to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over gambling matters by the immediately following October 15th legislation that distributes 50% of the net gambling revenue to the operator of the gambling facility and 50% to the General Fund.

This bill directs the Gambling Control Board within the Department of Public Safety to submit legislation regarding the distribution of net gambling revenue from table games and slot machines for any new gaming facility authorized by initiative or enactment by the Legislature.
