An Act To Amend the Laws Governing Municipal Motor Vehicle Registration and License Agent Fees
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §201, sub-§3, ¶A, as enacted by PL 1993, c. 683, Pt. A, §2 and affected by Pt. B, §5, is amended to read:
A. A municipal agent may charge an applicant a fee not to exceed $3 $5 over the required fee for each renewal of license or registration issued and a fee not to exceed $4 $6 over the required fee for each new license or registration issued.

This bill increases the motor vehicle licensing and registration service fees that may be assessed, collected and retained by municipalities from $3 to $5 for the renewal of a license or registration and from $4 to $6 for the issuance of a new license or registration.
