An Act To Allow Consumer Refunds or Exchanges of Unopened Bottles of Spirits
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 28-A MRSA §455-A is enacted to read:
§ 455-A. Return or exchange of spirits
An agency liquor store may accept a bottle of spirits for exchange or return at the purchase price if the bottle has not been opened or tampered with and is accompanied by a receipt that shows it was purchased within the last 90 days from that agency liquor store.

Currently, rules prohibit the return of spirits by a consumer unless the product is defective. This bill authorizes agency liquor stores to accept spirits for exchange or return of the purchase price under certain conditions.
