An Act To Ensure Proper Health Information Management
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 22 MRSA §1832 is enacted to read:
§ 1832. Health information management
Beginning January 1, 2012, a hospital licensed under this chapter shall employ directly or under contract a director of health information management who is certified as a professional health information manager by a national association of health information managers.
