An Act Regarding Contracts Awarded by the Maine State Housing Authority for the Installation or Servicing of Energy-efficient Appliances in Low-income Households
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 30-A MRSA §4722, sub-§1, ¶V, as enacted by PL 1991, c. 9, Pt. I, §7 and affected by §8, is amended to read:
V. Administer energy conservation programs . Contracts awarded by the Maine State Housing Authority to install or service energy-efficient replacement refrigerators or freezers in low-income households must be awarded on a regional basis to different suppliers and only to suppliers that do business primarily within the State and provide delivery and post-installation servicing services by the same supplier;
SUMMARY
This bill requires the Maine State Housing Authority, when awarding contracts to install or service energy-efficient replacement refrigerators or freezers in low-income households, to award those contracts on a regional basis to different suppliers and only to suppliers that do business primarily within the State and provide delivery and post-installation servicing services by the same supplier.
