This amendment would increase the future savings, if the voters approve the Constitutional Amendment.  The projected additional General Fund savings from a reduction of at least 2, but no more than 4 Senators would range from $86,450 to $172,902 in fiscal year 2014-15 and from $74,007 to $148,015 in fiscal year 2015-16 beginning with the 127th Legislature.  The amounts will depend on the number of Senators to be established by statutory change.
This amendment would increase the future savings to the Maine Clean Elections Fund.  The projected additional Other Special Revenue Funds savings from a reduction of at least 2, but no more than 4 Senators would range from $103,980 to $207,960 in fiscal year 2014-15.  The amounts will depend on the number of Senators to be established by statutory change.
