The collection of additional fines may also increase General Fund revenue by minor amounts.
Fiscal Detail and Notes
Raising the legal age to purchase, use or sell tobacco products from 18 years of age to 19 years of age and allowing persons 18 years of age to sell tobacco products at retail if supervised by someone at least 21 years of age will reduce revenue from the Cigarette Tax, the Tobacco Products Tax and the Sales and Use Tax, lowering General Fund revenue and revenue sharing starting in fiscal year 2011-12.
