Fiscal Detail and Notes
This legislation provides a complimentary hunting license to anyone who hunts coyote and has killed 10 coyotes within one year.  Currently, hunters who kill coyotes do not tag them, therefore it is unknown how many are killed each year.  The bill does not specify how the department will certify the number of coyotes killed each year by any one hunter.  If the rules require the coyotes to be tagged, it is unlikely anyone will kill the required 10 since the tagging fee is $5 per coyote.  If the department develops another method to certify the number of coyotes killed, General Fund revenues could be reduced.
