Requiring the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to decide petitions for de-listing of chemicals as chemicals of high concern, to notify interested persons and to provide opportunities for review and comment within 180 days of submission, to engage in rulemaking to specify appropriate de minimis levels for each chemical of high concern and to submit an agency regulatory agenda to the appropriate joint standing committee and to the Secretary of State will result in minor administrative costs that the DEP can absorb within existing budgeted resources.  Additional costs to the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the Department of Health and Human Services can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources.
