An Act To Make Bylaws and Minutes of Board Meetings of Publicly Funded Hospitals Subject to the Freedom of Access Act
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 1 MRSA §402, sub-§3-B is enacted to read:
3-B. Public records of hospitals. Bylaws and minutes of any meeting of the board of directors of a hospital are public records if the hospital receives public funds. For purposes of this subsection, "hospital" means a hospital licensed under Title 22, section 1811 and "board of directors" means the group of persons vested with the management of the affairs of the hospital irrespective of the various names, such as board of trustees or board of managers, by which the group is designated.
