An Act To Establish a Program To Invite Legislators To Visit Public School Classrooms

Sec. 1. 1 MRSA §150-I  is enacted to read:

§ 150-I.  Maine State Legislature Education Week

The 2nd week in April is designated Maine State Legislature Education Week. The Department of Education shall establish a program to encourage schools to invite Legislators to visit schools during that week to promote increased knowledge among students of the legislative process and to improve citizen interest and participation in the legislative process.
