An Act To Prevent a Conflict of Interest of the Secretary of State
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 5 MRSA §81-B is enacted to read:
§ 81-B. Campaign for elected office prohibited
A person may not serve as Secretary of State while that person is conducting a campaign for elected office.
SUMMARY
This bill provides that a person may not serve as Secretary of State while that person is conducting a campaign for elected office.
