Amend the amendment in the first indented paragraph in the first 2 lines (page 1, lines 12 and 13 in amendment) by striking out the following: "striking out everything after the enacting clause and before the summary and inserting" and inserting the following: 'inserting before section 1'

Amend the amendment by inserting after section 3 the following:

Amend the bill in section 1 by striking out all of subsection 11 (page 1, lines 3 to 11 in L.D.) and inserting the following:

11 Prohibited expenditures.   Retailers and vendors may not accept TANF benefits through electronic benefits transfer system debit cards:
A To purchase tobacco products, as defined in Title 22, section 1551, subsection 3;
B To purchase imitation liquor and liquor, as defined in Title 28-A, section 2, subsections 13 and 16, respectively;
C To engage in gambling activity, as defined in Title 8, section 1001, subsection 15; or
D To participate in lotteries conducted by the State pursuant to Title 8, chapter 14-A or the Tri-State Lotto Commission pursuant to Title 8, chapter 16.

Amend the bill by inserting after section 1 the following:

Amend the amendment in section 4 in subsection 3 in the last line (page 2, line 4 in amendment) by inserting after the following: "section 23" the following: 'and section 3763, subsection 11'

Amend the amendment by relettering or renumbering any nonconsecutive Part letter or section number to read consecutively.

This amendment provides that retailers and vendors may not acept TANF benefits through electronic benefits transfer system debit cards for tobacco, imitation liquor, liquor, gambling or lotteries.
