An Act To Allow a Person Who Is 60 Years of Age or Older To Use a Crossbow during the Open Seasons on Wild Birds and Animals
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §10952, sub-§2, as enacted by PL 2011, c. 61, §1, is amended to read:
2. Hunting with a crossbow; 60 years of age or older. A person 70 60 years of age or older may hunt a wild bird or a wild animal with a crossbow during any open season on that wild bird or wild animal subject to the laws of this Part.
This subsection is repealed January 1, 2015.
SUMMARY
Current law allows a person 70 years of age or older to hunt a wild bird or wild animal with a crossbow during any open season; the provision is repealed January 1, 2015.
This bill extends the provision to a person 60 years of age or older and removes the repeal.
