Resolve, Regarding a Study by the Department of Transportation of the Most Efficient Options for Improving East-west Transit and Transportation

Sec. 1. Department of Transportation to conduct study. Resolved: That the Department of Transportation, referred to in this resolve as "the department," shall study existing highways and railroad assets that now serve as an east-west transport corridor; and be it further

Sec. 2. Cost-effective upgrades. Resolved: That the study shall include an analysis of cost-effective upgrades for existing infrastructure to enhance east-west transit and transportation; and be it further

Sec. 3. Public input. Resolved: That the department shall include public input in its study and that all documents and materials created as part of the study are subject to public review and are not confidential under any provision of law; and be it further

Sec. 4. Report. Resolved: That the department shall report to the Joint Standing Committee on Transportation regarding the study under this resolve no later than January 15, 2014. The committee is authorized to introduce a bill related to the subject matter of the report to the Second Regular Session of the 126th Legislature upon receipt of the report.
