Fiscal Detail
and Notes |
Establishing
benchmarks for the purchase of foodstuffs produced or harvested by Maine
producers will increase costs beginning in fiscal year 2019-20. The additional costs to state institutions
cannot be estimated at this time, but a pricing sample of meat and frozen
products indicate the additional costs could exceed $250,000 per year. |
Additional costs
to the University of Maine System, the Maine Community College System and the
Maine Maritime Academy to comply with the requirements of this legislation
can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
