An Act To Provide a License Plate Decal for Emergency Medical Services Providers

Sec. 1. 29-A MRSA §527  is enacted to read:

§ 527.  Special identification license plate decals for emergency medical services providers

The Secretary of State may issue a set of special identification license plate decals for use with the registration plates issued under section 451 to any emergency medical services provider licensed under Title 32, chapter 2-B. One of the 2 identification decals must be displayed on the front plate, and one decal must be displayed on the back plate. The annual fee for a set of identification decals may not exceed $10. Five dollars of the annual identification fee for special identification license plate decals is credited to the Department of Public Safety to distribute to a Maine emergency medical services memorial and education center.

This bill allows the Secretary of State to issue identifying special license plate decals to be displayed on the registration plates of licensed emergency medical services providers. Half of the annual fee for the decals goes to a Maine emergency medical services memorial and education center.
