An Act To Increase Funding for Instruction within the University of Maine System
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 5 MRSA §1592 is enacted to read:
§ 1592. University of Maine System
1. Appropriation. The amount by which any appropriation by the Legislature for the University of Maine System exceeds the fiscal year 2014-15 appropriation for the University of Maine System must be dedicated to instructional and not administrative or other purposes.
2. Report. The University of Maine System shall report annually to the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over education matters specific details regarding the expenditure of an appropriation for instructional purposes under subsection 1.
