Fiscal Detail and Notes
The Department of Health and Human Services will require General Fund appropriations of $95,140 in fiscal year 2015-16 and $193,999 in fiscal year 2016-17 to hire 5 Fraud Investigators by January 1, 2016. Other Special Revenue Funds allocations of $95,140 in fiscal year 2015-16 and $193,999 in fiscal year 2016-17 will also be required.

The Department of Health and Human Services will require General Fund appropriations of $984,543 in fiscal year 2015-16 and $31,821 in fiscal year 2016-17 for technology updates and annual operating costs required to limit use outside of the State and to limit what can be purchased with EBT cards. Federal Expenditures Fund allocations of $108,215 in fiscal year 2015-16 and $21,643 in fiscal year 2016-17 and Federal Block Grant Fund allocations of $132,242 in fiscal year 2015-16 and $1,536 in fiscal year 2016-17 will also be required.

Any savings achieved would likely not accrue to the General Fund due to the Maintenance of Effort spending required of the State to receive the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Federal Block Grant funds.
