An Act To Protect Jobs and the Maine Economy by Eliminating the 3% Income Tax Surcharge Imposed on Certain Mainers and the Fund To Advance Public Kindergarten to Grade 12 Education
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §15697, as enacted by IB 2015, c. 4, §1, is repealed.
Sec. 2. 36 MRSA §5111, sub-§6, as enacted by IB 2015, c. 4, §2, is repealed.
SUMMARY
This bill repeals the provisions establishing the Fund to Advance Public Kindergarten to Grade 12 Education and the income tax surcharge of 3% imposed on taxable income of $200,000 or more, which is the source of revenue for the fund.
