An Act To Establish Maine Buy Local Month

Sec. 1. 1 MRSA §150-N  is enacted to read:

§ 150-N.  Maine Buy Local Month

November is designated Maine Buy Local Month, and the Governor shall annually issue a proclamation inviting and urging the people of the State to observe the month through appropriate activities. The Department of Economic and Community Development shall establish a year-round program to promote Maine Buy Local Month by encouraging people to buy from local businesses and by increasing awareness of the economic effect of buying from local businesses, especially the effect on small businesses in the State.
