An Act To Allow Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Who Have Attained Certain Degrees To Use the Title of Doctor
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 32 MRSA §2205-B, sub-§6 is enacted to read:
6. Title. A person who is approved to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse who has attained a doctor of nursing practice degree may use the prefix "Doctor" or "Dr." as long as the suffix "DNP" follows the person's name. A person who is approved to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse who has attained a doctor of philosophy in nursing degree may use the prefix "Doctor" or "Dr." as long as the suffix "Ph.D." follows the person's name.
