An Act Regarding Certain Shellfish Certificates and Permits Issued by the Department of Marine Resources
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §6856, sub-§§1-A and 2-A are enacted to read:
1-A. Certificate fee. The fee for a shellfish sanitation certificate is $100.
2-A. Additional authorizations; permits; fees. The commissioner shall charge a fee for each additional activity that is authorized for the holder of a shellfish sanitation certificate through the issuance of a permit. The fee for each permit under this subsection is $50.
Sec. 2. 12 MRSA §6856, sub-§9 is enacted to read:
9. Disposition of fees. The commissioner shall deposit fees collected pursuant to this section into the Shellfish Fund under section 6651.
SUMMARY
This bill establishes a fee of $100 for a shellfish sanitation certificate and a fee of $50 for each additional activity that is authorized for the holder of a shellfish sanitation certificate. The fees collected are deposited into the Shellfish Fund.
