‘Sec. 1. 22 MRSA §3104, sub-§13-A is enacted to read:
13-A. Broad-based categorical eligibility for the elderly and disabled. The department shall confer broad-based categorical eligibility for food supplement benefits, without regard to a household's assets, for households not included in subsection 13 that have an elderly or disabled member and gross income equal to or below 185% of the nonfarm income official poverty level as provided for in 7 United States Code, Section 2014. For the purposes of this subsection, "elderly or disabled member" has the same meaning as in the federal Food and Nutrition Act of 2008, 7 United States Code, Section 2012(j).
Sec. 2. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and allocations are made.
