An Act To Prevent Marine Debris
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §6432-B is enacted to read:
§ 6432-B. Lobster bait packaging
A person may not have in that person's possession on a vessel fishing for lobster or crab any materials used to package lobster or crab bait for sale, including but not limited to plastic wrapping and cardboard cartons. A person may not discard or abandon into any waters any materials used to package lobster or crab bait for sale. A person who violates this section commits a civil violation for which a fine of $250 must be adjudged.
