An Act To Increase the Quota for Smelts for Commercial Pelagic and Anadromous Fishing License Holders
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §6552-A is enacted to read:
§ 6552-A. Smelt limit for holders of commercial pelagic and anadromous fishing licenses
From July 1st to March 14th, the holder of a commercial pelagic and anadromous fishing license under section 6502-A may take up to 16 quarts per day of smelts in all coastal waters of the State east of the boundary of the State’s coastal waters at the New Hampshire border and west of the Penobscot River extending to Naskeag Point in Brooklin, including Deer Isle and Stonington.
SUMMARY
This bill establishes in law that the holder of a commercial pelagic and anadromous fishing license may take up to 16 quarts per day of smelts from July 1st to March 14th in the coastal waters of the State from the New Hampshire border to Naskeag Point in Brooklin, including Deer Isle and Stonington.
