Resolve, To Address Substance Use and Addiction in County Jails
Sec. 1. County jail substance use rehabilitation pilot project. Resolved: That the Department of Corrections shall by January 1, 2018 establish a 4-month pilot project to assist in the rehabilitation of individuals incarcerated at county jails who are experiencing substance use issues or addiction, especially issues or addiction related to opioid use. The pilot project must focus on the health of the individual and providing counseling and community service, employment and educational opportunities to the individual. The pilot project must be designed to include the involvement of a community-based program to ensure successful reintegration into the community and a significant reduction in recidivism; and be it further
