Resolve, To Increase Pedestrian Crosswalk Safety
Sec. 1. Municipal pedestrian crosswalk safety study. Resolved: That each municipality in the State with a residential population of 20,000 or greater shall undertake a study of all of the crosswalks in that municipality to determine the busiest pedestrian crosswalks and vehicular traffic areas in that municipality; and be it further
Sec. 2. Pedestrian crosswalk safety enhancement plan. Resolved: That, upon completion of the study under section 1, a municipality shall adopt a 10-year plan to address the enhancement of pedestrian crosswalk safety in the municipality through any needed modifications to physical and lighting conditions. The plan must address 10% of the busiest crosswalk locations in that municipality each year.
