An Act Regarding the Maine Clean Election Fund
Sec. 1. Transfers. Notwithstanding the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 21-A, section 1124, subsection 2, paragraph B, the annual transfers of $3,000,000 to the Maine Clean Election Fund that are required to be made by the State Controller from the taxes imposed under Title 36, Parts 3 and 8 and credited to the General Fund are changed for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2018 and June 30, 2019 only. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018, the transfer is increased to a total of $6,000,000 with $3,000,000 to be transferred on or before January 1, 2018 and $3,000,000 to be transferred on or before May 30, 2018. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019, the transfer is decreased to $1,700,000 to be transferred on or before August 30, 2018.
Sec. 2. Appropriations and allocations. The following appropriations and allocations are made.

Initiative: Provides an allocation to the Maine Clean Election Fund to increase from $3,000,000 to $6,000,000 the amount to be transferred from the General Fund in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018 and deallocates $1,300,000 from the Maine Clean Election Fund to recognize a reduction from $3,000,000 to $1,700,000 in the amount to be transferred from the General Fund in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019.
