Amend the bill by striking out all of section 1.

Amend the bill in section 2 in subsection 1 in paragraph C in the first 2 lines (page 2, lines 1 and 2 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " 2018 and every 2 years annually thereafter at the start of the first regular session of the Legislature" and inserting the following: ' 2019 and every 2 years thereafter at the start of the first regular session of the Legislature'

Amend the bill in section 2 in subsection 1 in paragraph C in the 8th line (page 2, line 8 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " annual" and inserting the following: ' biennial'

Amend the bill by adding after section 3 the following:

Amend the bill by relettering or renumbering any nonconsecutive Part letter or section number to read consecutively.

SUMMARY

This amendment is the majority report of the committee. The amendment removes from the bill the provision that allows the Maine Children's Growth Council to request staff assistance from the Department of Health and Human Services and the Child Development Services System. The bill changes a reporting requirement from every 2 years to annually; the amendment removes that change so that the reporting requirement remains every 2 years. The amendment provides funding for a part-time staff person to support the activities of the Maine Children's Growth Council.

The amendment also adds an appropriations and allocations section.
