This bill directs
the Department of Environmental Protection to adopt rules requiring that new
upholstered furniture sold in the State meet standards outlined in the
California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Home Furnishings and
Thermal Insulation Technical Bulletin 117-2013. This bill includes General
Fund appropriations of $29,482 in fiscal year 2017-18 and $40,909 in fiscal
year 2018-19 for one part-time Environmental Specialist III position for
program oversight, outreach and compliance assistance. |
