Fiscal Detail
and Notes |

|
|
|
This bill would
allow the holder of a Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (DIFW)
issued wholesale smelt license to also sell smelt taken from the coastal
waters of the State without having to obtain a Commerical Pelagic and
Anadromous Fishing License from the Department of Marine Resources
(DMR). |
|
It is anticipated
that this change will have little impact on the DIFW, but may reduce the
number of licenses issued by the DMR.
Currently there is no count of how many dealers have purchased both
licenses, but it is not anticipated that the number of licenses sold by DMR
will be reduced significantly. As a
result, any decrease in General Fund revenue from license fees and decrease
in Other Special Revenue Funds revenue from surcharge fees will be
minor. |
