Federal
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are reimbursed by
the federal government directly to the merchant and do not flow through the
State of Maine. Therefore, there would be no fiscal impact associated with
benefit costs to the Department of Health and Human Services. However, there
could be a potential increase to the SNAP administrative costs for increased
Electronic Benefit Transfer transactions and technology changes that may be
needed to the Automated Client Eligibility System which are currently unable
to be determined. |
