The general
operating expenses of this Advisory Committee are projected to be $1,950 in
fiscal year 2017-18 and $1,950 in fiscal year 2018-19. The Legislature's
proposed budget includes $10,000 in fiscal year 2017-18 and $10,000 in fiscal
year 2018-19 for legislative studies. Whether the amounts are sufficient to
fund all studies will depend on the number of studies authorized by the
Legislative Council and the Legislature. The additional costs of providing
staffing assistance to the study during the interim can be absorbed utilizing
existing budgeted staff resources. |

and Notes |

|
|
The bill's
requirement for the Legislative Council to provide year-round staffing for
the Advisory Committee would require an appropriation of $25,000 per year for
the costs of supporting the Advisory Committee during the Legislative
session. In addition, the bills requirement that all funds provided to the
Advisory Committee be deposited in an account separate from all other funds
of the Legislature would require an Other Special Revenue Funds allocation of
$500 in the event the Advisory Committee receives grants and other
nongovernmental funds. |
|
Any additional
costs to the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation and the
Department of Health and Human Services to implement the provisions of this
bill are expected to be minor and can be absorbed within existing budgeted
resources. |
