  Allowing the use
of a crossbow during the archery-only deer season could result in an increase
in the number of crossbow permits and archery-only deer hunting permits
issued by the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (IFW). The removal
of the additional license requirements to receive a crossbow permit could
decrease the number of hunting, archery and apprenticeship licenses
issued.  Allowing a person 65 years of
age or older to hunt wild birds and animals with a crossbow during certain
hunting seasons could result in an increase in the number of crossbow permits
issued by IFW.  It is anticipated that
the combined impact of these changes will result in minor increase in General
Fund revenue. Any additional costs to the IFW as a result of these changes
are anticipated to be minor and can be absorbed within budgeted resources. |
