and Notes |

This bill
includes a one-time General Fund appropriation of $500,000 in fiscal year
2017-18 to the Maine State Housing Authority (MSHA) to provide grants and
loans to eligible households for treatment of contaminated private drinking
water wells. The provision in this bill that allows MSHA to utilize 15% of
the total funds provided to administer the program is expected to be
sufficient to cover the administrative costs to MSHA. |
The bill also
requires the State Controller to transfer $500,000 by June 30, 2018 from the
Medical Use of Marijuana Fund, Other Special Revenue Funds account, in the
Department of Health and Human Services to the unappropriated surplus of the
General Fund to offset the one-time General Fund appropriation of $500,000 in
this bill.
