An Act To Require a Minimum Salary of $50,000 for Public School Teachers

Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §13406,  as enacted by PL 2005, c. 635, §6, is amended to read:

§ 13406. Minimum salaries

Each school administrative unit shall establish a minimum salary of $30,000 for certified teachers for the school year starting after June 30, 2007 and in each subsequent school year until the school year ending June 30, 2020.

Beginning with the school year starting after June 30, 2020, each school administrative unit shall establish a minimum salary of $50,000 for certified teachers for the school year.
